standard documents

The QM-Milk (Quality Management Milk) standard determines strict and verifiable requirements for dairy farming. It is a business-to-business standard among dairy farmers and dairies. In addition to compliance with legislation and requirements of good practice, the QM-Milk standard determines additional requirements for dairy farming in order to ensure the transparency and traceability of the system. Monitoring these process parameters provides additional safety for the products and fulfils the requirements of high-quality milk and dairy products.

Standard issuer is the association QM-Milch e.V. It was founded in 2011 and is an initiative of the German Farmers’ Association (Deutscher Bauernverband), German Raiffeisen Association (Deutscher Raiffeisenverband) and the Association of the German Dairy Industry (Milchindustrie-Verband) . These three associations had explained the basis for a uniform German quality management system for milk (QM-Milk) in 2002. This quality management for milk has been further developed to the present QM-Milk standard.

Version 2020
Following a comprehensive revision of the QM-Milk-Standard, the new, accredited "QM Milk Standard 2020" was implemented on 1.1.2020. The currently valid QM-Milk-Standard 2.0 was thus replaced without a transitional period.
